If Fitbit is down as users report app not working
Fitbit users are reporting problems with the app, with more than 1,000 people logging an issue with online outage tracker Down Detector.
Users say their app keeps crashing when they open it, and that it is failing to track or display any data.
The Fitbit Support Twitter account has responded to several complaints with the following advice: “We have reported the issue to our team. Sorry for the trouble and thanks for your patience. You can try to force quit your Fitbit app, and to restart your phone. You can also try switching your internet connection from mobile data to Wi-Fi or vice versa.”
However, users have replied saying these steps do not work, and that the app continues to crash even after they delete and reinstall it.
Gwenllian South commented: “App won’t open on iOS devices. Keeps crashing. Tried ALL of the recommended ‘fixes’, no joy. Very frustrating.”
This is the second major Fitbit outage in as many months. In February users experienced an issue that prevented the app from syncing with its fitness trackers.
