Shreveport native, previously honored by National Football League checks in from the Super Bowl
LAS VEGAS, NV (KSLA) – In December, Shreveport native Robert Jackson was honored by the National Football League, with the ‘Inspire Change’ award.
Jackson, a Booker T. Washington High School alum started the ‘High School Senior Voter Registration and Education’ program over two decades ago. He launched the initiative to encourage youth in Caddo Parish and beyond to vote.
Aside from honoring Jackson in December, the NFL gave him a pass to watch Super Bowl 58 in person from Las Vegas.
“Absolutely amazing,” says Jackson. “I don’t know what I’m more impressed with, this beautiful stadium or the people in Las Vegas. This is an incredible experience. You know, I watched the NFL Honors show, they had me in the clip. Maybe, this is good for the program to encourage others to be good citizens.”
