The ATX Open was hoping to be able to boast Emma Raducanu in it’s roster for the tournament but the young Brit had to withdraw from the event. There is still significant British interest in this tournament though with Heather Watson, Katie Boulter, and Harriet Dart all in the draw.
The number one seed is Magda Linette, who failed to trouble the latter stages of Merida last week from the same position. There are, as one would expect, a lot of American players in the tournament and one of them will be hoping to deliver a home winner here.

Danielle Collins 2pt @ 5/1 with Bet365
I think Collins, albeit she is the bookies’ favourite for the title, should be looking to win this event. Collins hasn’t won a WTA Tour event since 2021 but did make the 2022 Australian Open final. Her ceiling is really high compared to most of these players and she loves to play at home.
Her 64% win rate on US soil is impressive and the fact that the draw here in general is pretty weak means that her price isn’t huge but she should have the power to break down the majority of these players.
Peyton Stearns 0.25pt EW @ 40/1 with Bet365
Just going to chance a flier on Stearns in the other half of the draw from Collins. Stearns is in great form having won an ITF title in her last matches before this.
Stearns’ win percentage over the last twelve months is 72%, albeit almost exlusively on the ITF Tour and 100% in the United States. However, a win rate such as that shouldn’t be overlooked easily in a field of this calibre.
Just a quick word on some other contenders. Marta Kostyuk is the one to miss out on the shortlist. The Ukrainian has an immense amount of talent but has never been able to piece it together consistently. Really she should be winning tournaments of this standard, but she has never made a WTA semi-final, let alone a final, so she couldn’t make the staking plan.
Alycia Parks was close to selection too, but she may have gone off the boil slightly after a blistering start to the year. Anastasia Potapova comes here off the back of a tournament win, but her hard court record in the last twelve months is a losing one, and she hasn’t performed well in the States previously.
The draw in Austin is a 32-player draw, with eight seeds.
