As Telugu star Prabhas celebrates his 44th birthday, speculation arises about his marriage to actress Anushka Shetty. According to our sources, despite a decade-long commitment, the only delay in the union is because of their mismatched horoscopes. Read on to know.
Prabhas with rumoured GF Anushka Shetty
As Telugu superstar Prabhas turns 44, his family fans friends and other concerned parties have only one question: when is Prabhas getting married?
It is an open secret in the Telugu film industry that Prabhas has been in a committed relationship with actress Anushka Shetty for the past ten years. They have had their share of ups and downs. But they remain touchingly devoted to one another.
Both have secretly vowed that they will marry only one another, or not at all.
Why Prabhas is not getting married to rumoured girlfriend Anushka?
So what keeps them from taking the plunge? Apparently, it is Prabhas’ family that objects to the alliance. According to sources, Prabhas and Anushka’s horoscopes don’t match. Prabhas’s mother whom he worships, won’t have her son marrying against the wishes of the constellation. Even Lord Rama has to listen to his mother.
Significantly, there hasn’t been a whisper of a relationship between Prabhas and Anushka except with each other.
This writer had once asked Prabhas if he was romantic. He replied with a shy laugh, “I think I am romantic. I think others who know me would be a better judge of whether I am a romantic or not.”
He admitted that Baahubali was a milestone in his life and career. “It is a benchmark. It changed my life and career completely and I am really thankful for that. My family and fans are also very happy about Baahubali. Yes, it’s a benchmark. But I can’t do that again. I am just trying to make films that would entertain and hopefully not disappoint the audience. When I heard the script I knew there were things that had never been done. It wasn’t like something we could do in a hurry. I knew it was going to take a lot of our time. No one had ever attempted anything like Baahubali. Rajamouli is extremely passionate about his work. I know him as a friend and a guru. I knew he was going to take a lot of time to do Baahubali. I also knew every moment I gave to it would be worth my while.”
Prabhas on his role preparation
Prabhas also spoke in the past interview about the physical preparation for the role. “For six months I was only doing physical preparation. I learnt rock climbing for the romantic song, kickboxing, horse-riding, sword-fighting…everything. I also had to change my physical appearance. Before Baahubali I was really thin. Every morning and evening I worked out to gain a lot of muscles. I had to bulk up. A thin warrior was not acceptable to my director or to the audience. I had to look larger than life, like someone who could kill. I especially worked on my arm muscles since Baahubali is supposed to be most powerful in his arms. I was training for almost 3 hours every day for six months before shooting started. Once the shooting started there was no time. I’d wake up at 5 pm to get ready for a 7 am shoot and we’d go on shooting till 10 pm. I had to learn a whole new way of living to play the role. I had to play two different characters the prince and the warrior. I tried to bring in two different body languages for the roles. They are born and brought up differently and I had to play them accordingly we were shooting in Hyderabad most of the time. But still, it was a good two hours away from home, so I didn’t get to go home much during shooting. But in-between schedules we’d get 4-5 days off. That’s when I went home.”
